Just being silly

Not sure why I took this picture, but just thought it was funny when I was downloading the pictures.

First Day of Second Grade

The first day of school was August 14. I can't believe she started so early. Abby loves her school. She rides her scooter to school everyday. It never seems to rain here in Denver in the morning. It is so beautiful in the morning here. We always meet her friend Kiara on our way to school. I enjoy walking her to school. It is 1/2 mi to the school, so I am guaranteed to walk 2 mi every day (good exercise).

Move In Day

After spending a week in the local Residence Inn, it was finally time to move into our house. Of course, Jim was out of town on business when the movers were coming. It took them another 7 hours to move our things into the house, a very long day.

Road Trip

As Abby is showing you, this is our Day 1. We are still in Florence, KY at the Hyatt. The movers took 7 hours to load our things, so we decided to get a good night sleep before we venture out.

First milestone was in St. Louis, MO. I want everyone to keep in mind that I was driving while I was taking these pictures.

After spending the night in MO about an hour outside of Kansas City, it was time to hit the road again. Jim was driving his car with Abby and I was in my car with the 2 dogs. I'm not sure who was luckier. I missed the sign that we were entering Kansas, so I took a picture of the Topeka and Wichita sign. I tried to take a picture of the Kansas City Royal stadium, but traffic kept on getting in the way.

I'm sure you are all thinking to yourself what is this a picture of. That is exactly my point. After you leave Kansas City, this is all you see for a very long time!

Let's start at the very beginning

Before we left for Colorado, we had to say many goodbyes. Here, Abby is saying goodbye to her friends Julia and Ellie. I was crying everytime that I turned around. It got to the point where Abby was just rolling her eyes at me, like not again.

We are heading out from 1357 Cayton Rd, Florence, KY. Obviously, Abby is playing here, but I think at the time I was really crying. I kept on telling Jim that this was a great house. I was a basket case until we hit the road.

New job

Finally, I have confirmation of my job at Charles Schwab. I will start on Sept 4. I have to work full-time for the first three weeks which is very hard to do. Jim's mom has offered to come out to get Abby off to school and pick her up afterwards. After the training period, my hours will be 9:15 to 3:15. Just enough time to get Abby off to school. It has been a long time since I have worked, 8 years to be exact.

Computer access is coming on Tuesday, yeh! The library is going to miss me.

Miss everyone!

Moved to Denver

I just wanted to update everyone. I'm currently at the library using their computer. We will not have computer access until the 28th, so the pictures will be coming. Everything is going well so far. Abby loves her new school. She has made lots of new friends. We have placed membership at the Westside Church of Christ in Golden, CO. Abby has made a new best friend at church, her name is Amanda. She talks about Amanda constantly.

We have finally moved into the house. So currently we have boxes everywhere. We love the house. It has so much storage space.

We miss everyone at NKY. You all are very special. Thank you for the great party. It was a great opportunity for us to say goodbye (too bad that Abby had to be sick that day).

I'll post pictures as soon as I have access.
